For the time being there is no official evidence from Niantic about this decrease in items gained from Pokestops, but there are just too many players complaining about it for it to be completely untrue.
If this is indeed true then it has come at a terrible time, with a number of Pokémon Go trainers recently also having problems with their Go Plus, saying they are not detecting all Pokestops they walk past and now also with the new speed restrictions, making it impossible to play as a passenger of a vehicle.
However, we all may just be jumping to conclusions because there has been a number of events in recent weeks all over the world, and so players may just be use to the increase in items.
What I am saying is because of an increase in items for so long, that now if things have gone back to normal many trainers may see that as a reduction instead.
However if things have gone back to normal and there has been a decrease in items, then players may struggle to catch all the Pokémon that appear, with the increase in spawns sticking around.
But even still, that means there has in fact been a reduction in items trainers are receiving from Pokestops recently.
Considering how generous Niantic has been over the past few months with the Halloween and Lapras events, it makes sense for there to be a small decrease and a return to reality.
You cant have too much of a good thing, well you can and we Pokémon Go trainers want to, but that doesn’t mean we will always get what we want, when we want it.
But the good news is these events in recent times have been successful and I believe there will be more in the near future.
But for now Pokémon go trainers make sure to save your Pokeballs and items as it could be difficult to keep up with what you have been doing over the past moth or so.
